Our History.......

The deadline for each weeks issue is Mondays at 5:00 P.M. This includes all items submitted for the newspaper and also includes cancellation notices for legal notices. Notice is given at least one week prior when an earlier deadline is imposed.

Photographs may be submitted as a hard copy to our office or by mail, and also may be submitted electronically via e-mail as a JPEG file. Other e-mail file types submitted may not work and may not be published if we believe they would not be acceptable in print. All photographs for weddings and other announcements will be charged a fee, which must be paid for in advance. 

Classified ads are charged per word. Ads with 20 words or less are $5.00 per week. Each additional word over 20 is 20¢ per word. All classified ads must be pre-paid. At this time we are not able to take debit or credit cards, so payment must be made either cash, check or money order.

The Richton Dispatch publishes free obituaries with limited information. Please contact our office for details concerning what constitutes a free obituary and what items will be charged for. The beginning fee for obituaries that are longer than for a free obit is $25.00.
